Fighting Hunger in Peru

The End World Hunger Foundation is dedicated to combating global hunger and child malnutrition. In our latest initiative, we proudly announce a significant contribution of $8,500 to Chicuchas Wasi, a nonprofit organization based in Sonoma, California, that operates an indigenous girl school in Cusco, Peru. This funding will directly support the poorest families of students at the school, ensuring that their children receive the nourishment they need to thrive.

Empowering Families Through Micro-Businesses

The funds provided will be allocated to the ten families with the greatest need, each receiving $850 to start a micro-business. These small enterprises, which may include food carts, sewing machines, ..., are designed to generate additional income, enabling families to provide better meals for their children. By investing in these micro-businesses, we aim to create sustainable solutions that empower families to break the cycle of poverty.

2024 Milestones

Todd Evans and Cathy Webber, Board Directors of the End World Hunger Foundation, had
the honor of delivering a check for $8,500 to Rae Lewis, the founder of Chicuchas Wasi.
This funding was used to purchase ten food carts to support Chicuchas Wasi's families in
Cusco, Peru. This impactful project was brought to the Board's attention by Antoine
Bigirimana, showcasing the collaborative effort within our organization to identify and
address pressing needs in communities around the world.

Antoine was on an End World Hunger EduTour 2024 organized in Peru by Cathy Webber
and Efrain Morales. This EduTour Peru 2024 allowed participants to learn about the
farming systems in the Andes and the different agricultural products produced. They
participated in activities with local people and also volunteered at Chicuchas Wasi School
for Girls in Cusco. They enjoyed the customs and traditions of the region's most iconic
attractions: inca structures with their amazing perfection and symmetry, the narrow streets
of charming villages that silently tell the story of a great past, and, to make this adventure
complete, a scenic train ride to the magical Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. They loved this
Peru EduTour.

Edutour Peru 2025

The Peru EduTour 2025 should be even more enchanting. In addition to visiting the Machu
Picchu area and Chicuchas Wasi School, the tour will visit the Amazon Jungle to learn
about the challenges Peru has in the Amazon and how they are handling them. The
EduTour Peru 2025 will raise funds for two additional micro-enterprises for Chicuchas Wasi
parents.

Lessons Leaned

The Inca trilogies proved to be excellent guidelines for the Peru Inca culture, allowing them to achieve incredible feats. Here are the trilogies:
[Don't lie, Don't be lazy, Don't Steal]

[Love, Work, Learn]
[Upper World (Condor), Present World (Puma), Under World (Snake)]

[Ayni – Reciprocity, Person to Person, Mita – Reciprocity in Community,
Minka – Reciprocity while working]

Together, we can make a difference in the fight against hunger and malnutrition using the Inca trilogies.
